Spring is a wonderful time to introduce babies to new sights, sounds, and textures. This simple sensory activity is designed to gently support your baby’s curiosity while enjoying seasonal play together.

Focus: Sensory play, early motor skills, bonding

You’ll need:

  • Cardboard or thick paper
  • Non-toxic paint (or yogurt + food colouring)
  • Soft materials (cotton wool, fabric, tissue)
  • Glue or double-sided tape

What to do:
Create a simple tree shape, then offer soft “blossom” materials for your baby to touch, squeeze, and explore. Help them press items onto sticky areas while talking about textures like “soft” and “fluffy.”

No-mess option:
Seal materials and paint inside a zip bag for safe squishing—perfect for tummy time.

Why it works:
Supports sensory development, early language, and bonding through shared play.

Enjoy exploring spring together—sometimes the simplest activities create the most meaningful moments.
