Today we’re celebrating World Book Day, a special moment to shine a light on the power of stories in children’s lives. But for us, books aren’t just for one day… they’re part of the everyday magic happening in homes everywhere.
Before a child ever steps into a classroom, learning is already happening:
- Snuggling up with a bedtime story
- Singing nursery rhymes in the kitchen
- Talking about the pictures in a book
- Pointing out letters on the cereal box
- Sharing giggles over a favourite story (again and again!)
These small, everyday moments build language, confidence, curiosity and connection. Research shows that the early years are critical for brain development and it’s the loving interactions with trusted adults that make the biggest difference. Talking, listening, reading and playing together lays the strongest foundations for lifelong learning.
