World Bee Day: Celebrating Our Tiny Pollinators

Today we’re celebrating World Bee Day, a wonderful opportunity to learn about the tiny creatures that help flowers bloom, fruit grow, and gardens thrive.

Bees may be small, but they do a very big job. They help pollinate many of the foods we eat, including strawberries, apples, cucumbers, and tomatoes. Without bees and other pollinators, our natural world would look very different.

World Bee Day is also a chance to teach young children about kindness towards nature. Even toddlers can begin to notice buzzing bees in the garden, colourful flowers, and the changing seasons around them.

Family Bee Hunt Idea

Take a short walk outdoors and see how many bees or flowers your child can spot. You could count yellow flowers, listen for buzzing sounds, or look for bees safely from a distance.
