Did you know that playing peek-a-boo can help with future separation anxiety?
It gives babies the opportunity to understand about object permanence.
That objects/people still exist even though they can’t be seen and introduces the idea of separation.
So easy to play, you can hide behind:
- your hands
- blanket
- door
- or use their favourite toy
As babies become more mobile you can come up with different ways to play the game.
Sitting up – Hide items in/under/behind for them to find.
Crawlers/walkers– hide items in a room to search for.
