On Thursday 14th May, HRH The Duchess of Cornwall will visit Manor Primary School, Birkenhead, to find out more about the work of the Foundation Years Trust.
The Duchess, has a long standing commitment to working with organisations that help support young people and give children the help they need at an early stage in their life.
During her visit to Manor Primary School Her Royal Highness will see first-hand examples of our work by meeting volunteers and staff working with families in the local community. The Duchess will meet with local mums who benefit from our Bump-Start project and will have the chance to speak to several Bump-Start volunteers, who offer emotional and practical support to new mums in their own homes.
As an avid reader, Her Royal Highness has a particular interest in promoting the benefits of reading to both adults and children, so during her visit, The Duchess will also join parents and their children who take part in our Read It Together project and enjoy stories and poems ranging from Going on a Bear Hunt to a poem by the Poet Laureate, Carol Ann Duffy.
We will be taking photographs of the Royal Visit, which we will upload onto the News section of our website shortly.
